Over the decades, it has played a pioneering role in defining the course of engineering education and research\u2014not just in Eastern India, but globally. Now recognized as an Institute of National Importance under the NITSER Act, IIEST Shibpur is nestled along the banks of the Hooghly River in Howrah, adjacent to Kolkata\u2014India\u2019s third-largest city and the nerve center of the East.
